Having had the new iPhone5 in my life for a little over 48 hours I thought I would give you an update. Despite the issues surrounding the new maps app, included in the iOS6 release a few days prior to the new phone being released the new phone is a success.
The design quality is typically Apple, however in my opinion it scores higher than 4 and 4s, which I always felt sat poorly in the hand. The new phone has a modified bezel which seems to sit comfortably even with it’s greater height.
The device is noticeably lighter than the 4/4s this given it’s larger dimensions make it an even greater engineering feat. I find that the additional height causes no issues, but at the same time only marginally enhances the user experience of the phone.
After the short time I have been using the new phone with the new iOS6 operating system, my verdict is good. Many have made much of the map issues, but those aside it is as you would expect, a very accomplished phone. That said, there could always be more and some of Apple’s competition already has it in their new devices.
