I’m Kiran Chettra and I am a Web Developer Apprentice at Code String. I am new to the team, having started here on 4th July 2016.
The first things I do every day are log onto my computer, check my emails (if I have any) and then maybe go and make a cup of tea, if I get there first before someone else that is, which isn’t always possible as tea is the cornerstone of Code String and there is always a morning rush!
At the moment I am working on a brief that Steve gave me to do, as part of my apprenticeship training. I have to create my own website version of a well known site, and follow the brief I have been given, as if it were from a real client. Three things I have done on the site today are:
- Added some JavaScript
Added CSS
Adding JQuery
I am not a fast food addict like a few of my colleagues, and bring in my own packed lunch that my Mum makes me #whatababesheis
So far, what I like best about coding is learning about all the different elements I’m not particularly familiar with, or something that I’m not entirely confident with. It means I get to learn something new every day and take what I learn on board and into consideration for my next task.
National Coding Week runs from 19th – 25th September 2016. To celebrate the world of coding and do our bit to encourage more people to join us, we are blogging every day this week about the day in the life of a coder.
